OurBus (Service during Fall Break, Thanksgiving Break, Winter Break, and Spring Break)
OurBus is an intercity bus service that provides service during academic breaks, including Fall Break, Thanksgiving, Winter Break, and Spring Break. These routes connect students and communities with affordable, comfortable, and direct travel options.
Amtrak (Daily Service)
To purchase a ticket through Amtrak's website, enter Roanoke as the origin/destination station. The Smart Way bus provides a connection between the Blacksburg Transit Center and Roanoke. For the midday train trips, passengers will need to walk two blocks from Roanoke's Third Street Station to the Amtrak Platform. The Smart Way bus stops at the platform for the morning and late night Amtrak trips.
Student Discount
Students between the ages of 17 and 24, with a valid student ID, are eligible for a 15% discount on Amtrak routes nationwide. Tickets must be booked at least one day in advance.

CollegeTransit is a university-coordinated service that provides students with holiday and break bus service from Blacksburg to metro areas in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, and Virginia.
