To purchase a ticket through Amtrak's website, enter Blacksburg as the origin/destination station. Your rail ticket will include a Smart Way bus ticket to/from the Roanoke train station to/from the Blacksburg stop on Alumni Mall at the Squires Student Center.
Student Discount
Students between the ages of 17 and 24, with a valid student ID, are eligible for a 15% discount on Amtrak routes nationwide. Tickets must be booked at least one day in advance.

OurBus is an intercity bus service connecting Blacksburg to Washington, D.C. (near the D.C. Armory). Buses depart from Lane Stadium.
Virginia Breeze Bus Lines is an intercity bus service with four separate routes across the state of Virginia. The Valley Flyer route connects Blacksburg with Union Station in Washington, D.C., and includes several stops in the New River Valley, Shenandoah Valley and Northern Virginia.
