Bike, Bus, & Walk Parking Permit
The Bike, Bus, and Walk permit is available to Virginia Tech faculty, staff, and students who use sustainable transportation modes as their primary means of commuting to campus, including riding Blacksburg Transit or the Smart Way bus, bicycling, and/or walking. Bike, Bus, and Walk semester permits are $64 and yearly permits are $128. There are no replacements for lost or stolen permits. Student Bike, Bus, and Walk permits and daily permits are no longer valid for the Perry Street Area.
To register for a Bike, Bus, and Walk permit, complete the Commuter Alternatives Program form.
- Bike, Bus, and Walk permits are available for the first and second summer sessions.
- There will be six daily permits per summer session. All rules and regulations apply to the summer Bike, Bus, and Walk program.
- Bike, Bus, and Walk participants are not eligible for any other parking permits except additional daily parking permits for $8/day.
- Faculty and staff members must have an on–campus office address to register for the Bike, Bus, and Walk program. Students living in Oak Lane do not qualify.
Bike, Bus, and Walk participants will receive:
- 16 discounted daily parking permits per semester, or 32 discounted daily parking permits per year.
- Access to the Guaranteed Ride Home Program, which provides a free ride home in the event of an emergency. The Guaranteed Ride Home Program is available to registered RIDE Solutions users. Registration is free but must be processed in advance of a request. To register for RIDE Solutions click here.
- If you are already registered with RIDE Solutions and need to make a request, click here. Your request will be reviewed, a pdf voucher will be issued, and then needs to be printed and presented to the local provider, Hooptie Ride, 540-449-3748.
